A Castle that had once been the center of arts and culture is now the center of evil and the headquarters of Queen Grimhilde's evil reign.

| Her Majesty, Queen Grimhilde, sat on the floor of her throne room working on a conjuration spell that her Mistress had taught her but it wasn't going well. She'd almost get there and then something would happen and her concentration would break and that would be the end of it. Her hands glowed and her focus was completely on what she was doing until a knock came on her door. The spell broke and she stood up, "What!? What the hell do you want?!"

| Maleficent Maleficent stood in the antechamber she had sent off on of the palace servants to announce her arrival to Queen Grimhilde. They had mutual enemies and mutual problems it would be good for both of them to work together. However there were protocols to these games and formality was one of them. She would not stroll into Grimhilde's presence unannounced it would start the dealings off on a bad foot.

| Two footmen entered and bowed before the queen, "Your majesty, a Maleficent is here to see you?" The men sounded puzzled but did their jobs none the less. Grimhilde snapped to her feet, "Bring her in at once, don't keep her waiting." Grimhilde knew who Maleficent was, and having her on one's bad side was not something she wanted to do. She stood and straightened her gown before standing on a large map of her territory that had been inlaid into the floor many years before her arrival to court. She folded her hands in front of her and waited for her distinguished guest to enter.

| Maleficent She smiled as she entered the room admiring the furnishings and layout. "Your men are very well trained Queen Grimhilde they are so obedient." As she closed the distance and stood directly in front of the queen she looked to the men then back to Grimhilde "How have you been, I have heard rumblings amongst the rabble." Maleficent was deliberately vague as she was used to spys and magical charms of all sorts being set about to thwart her. She would rather talk of the more serious things in private.

| Grimhilde stood proud with her head held high as Maleficent entered and the door was shut leaving them alone before she dipped gently in a coursey. While Grimhilde was queen she considered Maleficent her magical superior and showed her respect due, "Thank you. They know what the consequences are if they fail." She said indicating the half rotten corpse that hung outside her window in a cage where he'd been thrown and left to die. Her eyes returned to the Witch as she snapped her fingers and a chair slid across the floor for her as Grimhilde sat in her throne, "I have heard some grumbling. Nothing too serious. What have you heard?" She was confident that they were alone and private so they could discuss matters freely.

| Maleficent Moving her skirts to allow her to sit she smiled at Grimhilde "That some of the people around here think that we have grown soft and that we are not to be feared." She said as she pulled out a piece of paper and sent it floating to the other woman. It was a poster talking about if Maleficent was even real and on what rules did she and other queens even rule anyway. "It seems that some have forgotten...."

| Grimhilde picked up the paper that Maleficent sent floating towards her and her eyebrow raised with some irritated interest, "Well this just won't do." She said trying to hide her anger, and turn it into annoyance. Grimhilde, while she was an angry person, tried to hide it and just covered it by being a ruthless ruler. She lowered the paper and shifted her eyes to her guest, "What is this about finding the 'true ruler"?! There is no 'true ruler' besides me!" She couldn't understand it.

| Maleficent "Simple my friend, they seek a blood heir. One born of the royal line that ruled before you took the reigns." She said with a cold smile "people are fickle as soon as something dies they speak of it with fondness, usually a fondness they never had while the thing lived. Since they have you as queen the speak of a previous time as being grand good old days and much like those I have helped in the past your subjects forget all you have done for them." Maleficent burned inside from how people spoke of her, she was the thing that mothers told their children about to keep them out of the woods and in the house after dark. Yet she had never given anyone except what they had asked for, she never hid that she wanted payment and yet she was monster. People could never take responsibility for their own choices....there always had to be someone else to blame. That someone was and seemingly ever would be her. The dark queen of magic, yet they had no trouble asking for that magic if they needed something...

| Maleficent's words rang true. She knew that people called the age of King Stephan and Queen Catherine the 'Golden Age' but Grimhilde had improved the Kingdom. New universities had been built, the wealthy had prospered. Sections of the country had been industrialized. In Grimhilde's mind she had done well, but people still loved the previous monarchy. She sighed and tightened her lips across her teeth as she thought, "I once read something that said, 'It is better to be feared than loved if one must choose.'" She shook her head, "I think it is time I remind these people why they should fear me."

| Maleficent Smiling she cooed the words "then make the harshest example of those who oppose you. Swift, brutal and public." Her words were simple and straight forward not a common occurrence. To her the problem was simple power need to be respected her power, and Grimhilde would help her get all this respect and more. Grimhilde may have known how to use magic but Maleficent was magic, she was the queen of magic, all magic not just dark magic as some said.

| Grimhilde nodded, "I plan on it. I knew there were those who harbored ill feelings about my rule of this country but I am surprised that they are suddenly being sol bold about it." To be honest she was surprised that any of them knew a blood heir to the throne existed. Grimhilde had taken care of them years ago. She would now have to find all of them, all four and kill them. She would start with the easiest one. She turned her head from her guest for a moment, "HOOK!" She shouted knowing that the naval Captain couldn't be too far, "I fear that I must now publicly execute every one of Stephen's children. I will make an example of those they seek."

| Captain James Hook was one of the country's biggest war heroes. He'd put down more rebellions, crushed more pirates and smuggling operations and enforced Grimhilde's rule of the seas for the whole of her reign as queen. In fact he was budding to be her next Naval adviser, which was why he spent so much time in the castle and not at sea. Hook loved being at sea but he knew where his duties lay unless he was ordered otherwise.
|
Hook heard the Queen's shout for him from the adjacent room where he was looking over some charts and some amendments to the Navigation Laws that Grimhilde had put in place a few years ago to get the merchant class to fall in line. It had worked for the most part, though it had irritated some of the smaller merchants who had been forced to go out of business as a result of the import tariffs. He stood up, straightened his Knight's Cross and his jacket before walking in the side door of the room. He noted the guest and bowed to Grimhilde, "What can I do for your Majesty?"

| Maleficent Maleficent smiled it had been a long time since she had seen Hook, the ambitious boy was now a seasoned naval commander. She waited to here what Grimhilde would have him do, she had tipped the revolutions hand and now she could sit back and watch the show. Grimhilde would need a firm decisive victory this time all the heirs must die and settle the matter once and for all. Then only a usurper could grab the throne and they would have no clear 'right' to the power.
